If the snow is good you can ski back to Sixt from the top of Flaine via les Cascades and get the bus to right outside. The area is also a superb Summer destination, with world class hiking & mountain biking at your doorstep, the natural wonder of the famous 'Cirque de Fer à Cheval', white water rafting, paragliding, canyoning and rock climbing all nearby.
