Summary: We really enjoyed our time at this chalet. It is on a cul-de-sac and immediately outside is a big hill perfect for sledging. 10 mins walk in one direction is the ski resort and 10 mins in the other is the village centre with restaurants, shops, a covered outdoor skating rink and a bakery. If you don't want to walk, there's a free road train that loops round the village. Hopping in the car, Chatel is 30 mins away, a Premier league ski resort, plus there's a wonderful, modern indoor-outdoor pool and spa complex. Also nearby is the shore of Lake Geneva, with the old town of Yvoire, as well as Evian, plus over the Swiss border Montreux. The chalet is in good condition, well equiped and clean. It had everything we needed and was more spacious than it seemed in the photos. The owner was absolutely lovely and brought us a gift of some local honey, as well as chocolate for the kids for their long drive home! We would certainly book here again if returning to Bernex. We went during UK February half-term and the price was very reasonable. As long as you are after a snowy family holiday rather than to ski flat-out everyday on hundreds of km of different pistes, the set up here is perfect.
